State
of Black Houston
 One
of the inherent recompenses for researchers is the proliferation
of little known or overlooked data one has to sift through
to find corresponding information to validate the topic
that one is dealing with. Especially since the Internet
has ideally replaced the library as researcher’s
major resource. However, as amazing as the various,
information rich search engines are, the wide diversity
of ideologies that a wide diversity of people espouse
is even more amazing; in particular, the ideologies
of new wave bloggers that are allowed to hide behind
pseudonyms and code names.
Like the old folks use to say, one becomes very bold
and brazen when they’re in a position to throw
a rock and hide their hands. And that’s exactly
why Internet blogs have become more popular than conventional
online news sites. Accordingly, Houston Forward Times’
editorial writers were somewhat upset when they researched
historical information about American president’s
State of The Union addresses. They stumbled upon what
appeared to be a news article, but turned out to be
a political blog that had intercepted a news article
from an entertainment guide that asked in a not so joking
manner: “State Of The Union Address To Replace
Lost Premiere: Which would you rather watch?”

Texans
shine in Pro Bowl; Schaub wins MVP
By Yolande Y. Lezine
Forward Times Sports Writer
The Houston Texans were well represented in Miami, Florida
as five of the hometown teams stars played in the first
Pro Bowl held before the Super Bowl.
Texans quarterback Matt Schaub, who was a replacement
for New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady, showed
he belonged amongst the NFL's best stars as he put on
a MVP performance in leading the AFC to a 41-34 victory
at Sun Life Stadium.
Schaub, who led the league with 4,770 passing yards
in 2009, earned Pro Bowl MVP honors after guiding the
AFC to a 41-34 victory. In his first-career Pro Bowl,
Schaub tossed two touchdown passes and finished with
189 yards passing, completing 13-of-17 passes.
