Chinanu Onuaku Debuts Underhanded Free Throw Technique Before Returning to Rockets D-League Partner Rio Grande Valley
The Houston Rockets defeated the Phoenix Suns 131 – 115. James Harden led with 32 points and had 12 assists. What overshadowed the Rockets victory, in the best way possible, was rookie Chinanu Onuaku who debuted his underhanded free throw technique that is reminiscent of deadly free-throw shooter Rick Barry. He mad both attempts.
The following day Houston Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey made the announcement that the team assigned center Chinanu Onuaku to Houston’s single-affiliation NBA D-League partner Rio Grande Valley.
Onuaku ranks third in the D-League in rebounding (10.3 rpg) and fifth in field goal percentage (.628) and has appeared in 16 games for the Vipers this season.
It may have been brief… but you had a good run Onuaku.
