Forward Thinkers, in January we touched and agreed this would be the year we GO FOR IT and we stood in unity and declared Ready-Set-Go. Now, as we run down the conclusion of 2019, I want us to release the faith to finish strong. The level of faith we operate with over the last few months of 2019 will determine the level of success we enter into 2020 with.
Forward Thinkers, let’s stand and recommit to our great success by shouting Ready-Set-Go.
The bible teaches us that faith comes by hearing the Word of God; therefore, if we are going to GO FOR IT and Make FAITH DO WHAT IT DO we must make hearing the Word a priority. Then we must commit to doing what the Word says making it a non-negotiable act.
At the beginning of this series, I’m spending time laying a winning biblical foundation that we will build on throughout the rest of the year.
James 2:14-26 Amplified Bible (AMP)
FAITH AND WORKS
14 What is the benefit, my fellow believers, if someone claims to have faith but has no [good] works [as evidence]? Can that [kind of] faith save him? [No, a mere claim of faith is not sufficient—genuine faith produces good works.] 15 If a brother or sister is without [adequate] clothing and lacks [enough] food for each day, 16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace
[with my blessing]
, [keep] warm and feed yourselves,” but he does not give them the necessities for the body, what good does that do? 17 So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead
[inoperative and ineffective]
FAITH WITHOUT WORKS IS DEAD
Forward Thinkers, we must work our faith and trust our faith to do what it do. The question becomes what can faith do? The answer is EVERYTHING.
Forward Thinkers, understand, faith is not us doing nothing but faith is us working the promises and principles of God’s Word without fear or doubt. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. reminded us that the belief that we can do nothing and wait on God to do everything is not faith but superstition.
Unfortunately, the church operates under more superstitions and traditions than faith; therefore, the world mocks us for a lack of results. Church powerful systems only respond to power.
That’s a major reason we are losing Millennials. They don’t see results that look like God-sized results. They can use their degrees, careers, and hustle to get a car, a house, and stuff. They want to see the supernatural manifested in the earth’s realm.
Forward Thinkers, 29 years ago I stood and preached for the first time and my message was “A Society of Dead Faith,” and 29 years later I realize the key to the next big move of God is not on God, but on how we work our faith.
John 9:4 New International Version (NIV)
4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.
WE MUST WORK OUR FAITH NOW WITH A SENSE OF URGENCY
Forward Thinkers, we no longer have time to sit on our faith making excuses. I was once in a meeting with Dr. Myles Munroe and he said something that still encourages me to this day, “the goal is to die empty.’ What he was saying was work your faith and leave nothing behind when you die. Jesus is reminding us once we die we can longer work.
Philippians 1:6 New International Version (NIV)
6 being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
WE MUST WORK OUR FAITH WITH THE END IN MIND
Forward Thinkers, if we stay in faith the results are pre-destined in our favor because our faith pleases God. I stole this from Facebook, but I told owner of the page I was stealing it, “I’m only accepting ‘wins’ or ‘whens’ this season. If it isn’t a win, then I’ll continue to work my faith until the ‘when’ turns into a ‘win.’
My faith tells me in the end I always win so I keep the end in mind throughout the entire journey.
5 The Lord saw how great the wickedness of the human race had become on the earth, and that every inclination of the thoughts of the human heart was only evil all the time. 6 The Lord regretted that he had made human beings on the earth, and his heart was deeply troubled. 7 So the Lord said, “I will wipe from the face of the earth the human race I have created—and with them the animals, the birds and the creatures that move along the ground—for I regret that I have made them.” 8 But Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord.
Noah and the Flood
9 This is the account of Noah and his family.
Noah was a righteous man, blameless among the people of his time, and he walked faithfully with God. 10 Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham and Japheth.
11 Now the earth was corrupt in God’s sight and was full of violence. 12 God saw how corrupt the earth had become, for all the people on earth had corrupted their ways. 13 So God said to Noah, “I am going to put an end to all people, for the earth is filled with violence because of them. I am surely going to destroy both them and the earth. 14 So make yourself an ark of cypress[c] wood; make rooms in it and coat it with pitch inside and out. 15 This is how you are to build it:
22 Noah did everything just as God commanded him.
7 The Lord then said to Noah, “Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation.
FAITH TO BEGIN
Forward Thinkers, no more excuses. Start now. If God spoke it into your spirit, there will be no greater time to start than now. That thing you’re waiting on to happen has already happened when God woke you up this morning on purpose with purpose.
Noah released his faith and started building. His only tool was God’s Word.
FAITH TO BEGIN ALONE IF NECESSARY
Notice God didn’t promise Noah any outside help so Noah would have to depend on his inside faith. Forward Thinkers, stop needing the approval and assistance of others before you work your faith. A man showed up at a healing pool telling Jesus nobody would help him in and Jesus said to him stop making an excuse and work your faith; get up and walk.
My truth is — 12 years I didn’t have any guarantees anyone would show up at a Green House International Church in a strip center on Airtex Blvd. and when I signed the contracts on this building at 200 W Greens Rd. in 2017 with a minimal operating expense of 30 thousand dollars monthly the only thing I knew for sure was I heard from God and I was committed to working my faith.
FAITH TO BEGIN IN SPITE OF
Noah had never seen an ark and Noah had no one to run to that had ark building experience but Noah had ark building faith.
President Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States of America in spite of never seeing a Black President.
Faith produces Trailblazers. Trailblazers are people who make a new track through wild country.
FAITH TO BEGIN AGAINST THE ODDS
Let me share an amazing story of faith my mom shared with her sons this week. In 1959, police were called to a segregated library in South Carolina when Ronald Erwin McNair, a 9 year old Black boy, refused to leave the library. He later got a Ph.D. in Physics from MIT and became an astronaut. That library that refused to allow him to read inside of it is now named after him.
Forward Thinkers, God specializes in using people of faith to win against the odds so He gets the glory for our stories.
Truth is I’m operating against the odds daily but my faith is bigger than the odds against me.
FAITH TO CONTINUE
It got hard for Noah at times but he kept working his faith and kept building the ark of faith. Tell yourself quitting is not part of your Faith DNA. Push-Press-Pause but don’t quit.
FAITH TO STAY FOCUS
Forward Thinkers, don’t let the enemy distract you off your assignment. Stay focus on building your ark. Funny story I heard the other day a taxi driver pulls up to pick up a customer and the lady is totally naked. The taxi driver looks her over up and down several times when she says what you never seen a naked woman before and the taxi driver replies you being naked is not the issue but I don’t see where you hiding my fare and I have a job to do. Moral of story stay focused on the job no matter what tries to distract you.
FAITH TO FINISH
Noah did everything God told him to do and he completed the ark. Noah’s family benefited off his ability to make his faith do what it do and today Christians are benefiting off the faith of Jesus Christ.
Jesus declared in faith forgive them they don’t know what they doing.
Jesus stayed on the cross in pain and in faith so you and I could win in FAITH.
Jesus came out the grave in faith and assigned the Holy Spirit to us to guide us in faith into our full potential.
