GO FOR IT: Some Things Can Only Be Done Through Prayer and Fasting
Forward Thinkers, the next level, the life changing increase, the victory against the odds, the breaking down of a long lasting generational curse of your family, the deliverance from addiction, being set free from emotional, mental, and financial bondage in the year of 2019 will all come through prayer and fasting connected to a plan of action to GO FOR IT.
Forward Thinkers, the good news is we can put all our faith and trust in God’s Word and GO FOR IT in 2019.
Hebrews 6:18-20 The Message (MSG)
God Gave His Word
13-18 When God made his promise to Abraham, he backed it to the hilt, putting his own reputation on the line. He said, “I promise that I’ll bless you with everything I have—bless and bless and bless!” Abraham stuck it out and got everything that had been promised to him. When people make promises, they guarantee them by appealing to some authority above them so that if there is any question that they’ll make good on the promise, the authority will back them up. When God wanted to guarantee his promises, he gave his word, a rock-solid guarantee—God can’t break his word. And because his word cannot change, the promise is likewise unchangeable.
18-20 We who have run for our very lives to God have every reason to grab the promised hope with both hands and never let go. It’s an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God where Jesus, running on ahead of us, has taken up his permanent post as high priest for us, in the order of Melchizedek.
Forward Thinkers, there are three truths we need to build on in 2019.
1) God Backs His Word
2) We Must Hold On To God’s Word
3) God Does Not Lie
Forward Thinkers, I’ve come to the conclusion, if God is always going to come through on His end, the only question is are we going to do our part and bring what’s in our head (Vision Board) into our hands? Forward Thinkers, God is saying yes to those willing to do what it takes to GO FOR IT in 2019.
Mark 9:16-30 Amplified Bible (AMP)
16 He asked them, “What are you discussing with them?” 17 One of the crowd replied to Him, “Teacher, I brought You my son, possessed with a spirit which makes him unable to speak; 18 and whenever it seizes him [intending to do harm], it throws him down, and he foams [at the mouth], and grinds his teeth and becomes stiff. I told Your disciples to drive it out, and they could not do it.” 19 He replied, “O unbelieving (faithless) generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring him to Me!” 20 They brought the boy to Him. When the [demonic] spirit saw Him, immediately it threw the boy into a convulsion, and falling to the ground he began rolling around and foaming at the mouth. 21 Jesus asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he answered, “Since childhood. 22 The demon has often thrown him both into fire and into water, intending to kill him. But if You can do anything, take pity on us and help us!” 23 Jesus said to him, “[You say to Me,] ‘If You can?’ All things are possible for the one who believes and trusts [in Me]!” 24 Immediately the father of the boy cried out [with a desperate, piercing cry], saying, “I do believe; help [me overcome] my unbelief.” 25 When Jesus saw that a crowd was rapidly gathering [around them], He rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “You deaf and mute spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again!” 26 After screaming out and throwing him into a terrible convulsion, it came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse [so still and pale] that many [of the spectators] said, “He is dead!” 27 But Jesus took him by the hand and raised him; and he stood up. 28 When He had gone indoors, His disciples began asking Him privately, “Why were we unable to drive it out?” 29 He replied to them, “This kind [of unclean spirit] cannot come out by anything but prayer [to the Father].”
29 And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting. (KJ)
Let’s break down the text:
The Church, The Boy, The Father, The Crowd, and The Breakthrough
1) They couldn’t do it
A) Re-Focus on the NOW
Remember, whatever you focus on the most will be the end result you live with.
Neuroscientists have discovered that we repeat our thoughts daily in our subconscious mind; therefore we are reproducing the same results yearly. In order to change your results you must change your thinking.
Forward Thinkers, it’s time to make adjustments and remember to continue to make adjustments on your journey.
2) They asked Jesus why
A) Prayer – God is the audience and the answer
B) Fasting – discipline your mind, body, and soul to navigate in a pre-determined direction that you desire to travel in
A) Speech – conscious communications, talk like a winner, speak the language of your future, not your past
B) Holds him down – shake it off and get up and GO FOR IT
C) Stiff – push through the pain, the end result is worth it
A) Doing all he knows how to do
C) Help me with my unbelief (vs.24) wow
Forward Thinkers, they’re looking for a dead situation but they don’t realize God is at work and things are getting ready to change for the better and for the greater. You went through all that in 2018 but you made it to 2019 because God is not through with you yet.
Forward Thinkers, the crowd is getting ready to see God move.
1) The Devil fought hard right before the breakthrough
2) It Looked Like It was Over
3) But Jesus Raised him UP
Forward Thinkers, yes, in 2019, Jesus is going to raise us up and position us to GO FOR IT.
