Acts 28:5-10

But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects.

The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead; but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.

There was an estate nearby that belonged to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us to his home and showed us generous hospitality for three days.

His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him.

When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured.

They honored us in many ways; and when we were ready to sail, they furnished us with the supplies we needed.

Acts 28:30-31

For two whole years Paul stayed there in his own rented house and welcomed all who came to see him.

He proclaimed the kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ—with all boldness and without hindrance!

Forward Thinkers, after all you’ve been through and you’re still standing lets me know God has a purpose attached to your life journey.

Forward Thinkers, I’ve discovered sometimes purpose is discovered in the midst of difficult places.

It’s time to shake off every weapon that tried to attach itself to you to distract you from your God assigned purpose. Sickness, depression, mistakes from your past, negative people must all be shook off this season.

Forward Thinkers, you’ve made it on purpose!!!

Forward Thinkers, you’re alive on purpose!!!

Now let’s look at verse 5 the word BUT

Conjunction used to introduce something contrasting with what has already been mentioned.

Forward Thinkers, they thought it was going to defeat or kill Paul (you) but God showed up and showed out and the people had no choice but to change their mind about you and your God.

Forward Thinkers, thank God He inserted a BUT in your situation and shifted the outcome in your favor.

The Situations Couldn’t Stop Purpose (Paul/You)

2 Corinthians 11:24-28

Five times I received from the Jews the forty lashes minus one.

Three times I was beaten with rods, once I was pelted with stones, three times I was shipwrecked, I spent a night and a day in the open sea, I have been constantly on the move. I have been in danger from rivers, in danger from bandits, in danger from my fellow Jews, in danger from Gentiles; in danger in the city, in danger in the country, in danger at sea; and in danger from false believers.

I have labored and toiled and have often gone without sleep; I have known hunger and thirst and have often gone without food; I have been cold and naked.

Besides everything else, I face daily the pressure of my concern for all the churches.

2 Corinthians 12:8-9

Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.

Forward Thinkers, we can declare like Paul that God’s grace is sufficient and when we’re weak God is strong. No matter how big our situations are, God’s grace is always bigger and because God has a purpose for our lives He keeps making a way for us to survive.

The Storm Couldn’t Cancel Purpose (Paul/You)

Look at Acts 28:1, I made it safely to shore.

Forward Thinkers, the shore allows some to keep going.

Forward Thinkers, the shore allows others to start over.

Forward Thinkers, the shore also allows us the ability to start over and keep going at the same time.

If the storm brings wind and the wind blows you closer to your purpose, what you lost in the storm was not a lost but a gain.

Forward Thinkers, every storm has an eye so we can see our purpose in the midst of our storms.

The Snake Couldn’t Kill Purpose (Paul/You)

Forward Thinkers, the people were waiting and watching for Paul to die–yes there are those waiting and watching for your purpose-driven life to end.

God is going to use what was intended to kill you as evidence of who He is, so keep your faith and watch God work.

Forward Thinkers, notice the snake that attached to his HAND had the power to kill him but he shook it off and it fell in the fire and died. Forward Thinkers, remember the guard at the fire pit of those three Hebrew boys was destroyed by the very fire he intended to destroy them with. This battle is not ours it’s the Lord’s.

Look at verse 8. That same hand prayed and touched sick people and they got healed.

Forward Thinkers, your story will bring God glory and your testimony is your message to inspire others.

Forward Thinkers, shout, I made it on PURPOSE AND IT’S MY TIME TO LIVE A PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE.
