THE LORD WILL MAKE A WAY SOMEHOW POST-THANKSGIVING EDITION

Forward Thinkers, for a Believer, a Child of God, an Over comer, a man or woman of faith, Thanksgiving Day is not just the 4th Thursday of November. Thanksgiving is every day. We understand every day we wake up is a day designed to give God thanks. Forward Thinkers, as we enter into the Holiday season, we must remain thankful for all the Lord has already done for us and we must continue to believe in the midst of it all the Lord will continue to make a way somehow.

Psalm 100:4-5New International Version (NIV)

4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name.5 For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations.

Forward Thinkers because I know the Lord will make a way somehow I’m able to enter into his gates with thanksgiving no matter what I exited out of.

On yesterday I spoke at the funeral of a man who went from successful businessman in medical field to dying from cancer and I rushed from the funeral in the Woodlands to Greens Point to do a Prayer Vigil with the family of Ava Castillo, a 4 year old murdered last week. While I was at the funeral in the Woodlands other Houstonians were in SE Houston participating in a Peace Walk with a mother who lost two sons to murder within a month apart this summer.

Forward Thinkers these three families and many other families across the city and country will never have the privilege of fully enjoying the joy of the Holidays because there will forever be an empty seat at the table. But, today I come to encourage us all to remain thankful in the midst of it all because the Lord will make a way somehow.

Psalm 95:1-3New International Version (NIV)

1 Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. 2 Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. 3 For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.

Forward Thinkers King David is the author of this Psalm and he knew the Lord would and could make a way out of no way because he had a series of personal testimonies of the God coming through for him. Forward Thinkers whenever you’re facing trouble remember the last time trouble showed up God also showed up and showed out on your behalf.

Forward Thinkers the Lord made a way against the giant Goliath and gave David the victory and today we must face our giants believing the same God that gave David victory will surely give us victory.

Forward Thinkers the Lord made a way when Saul turned on David and tried to kill him and today when people close to us betray us we must stand in full confidence believing the Lord will cover and protect us through the personal attacks.

Forward Thinkers the Lord made a way for David even after he messed up real bad the Lord restored David back to righteousness. Forward Thinkers the devil will try to hold you down in your mess but today you can rejoice because God’s grace is waiting to restore you and bless you.

2 Samuel 5:17-25New International Version (NIV)

17 When the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over Israel, they went up in full force to search for him, but David heard about it and went down to the stronghold. 19 so David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I go and attack the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hands?” The Lord answered him, “Go, for I will surely deliver the Philistines into your hands.”

22 Once more the Philistines came up and spread out in the Valley of Rephaim; 23 so David inquired of the Lord, and he answered, “Do not go straight up, but circle around behind them and attack them in front of the poplar trees. 24 As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move quickly, because that will mean the Lord has gone out in front of you to strike the Philistine army.” 25 So David did as the Lord commanded him, and he struck down the Philistines all the way from Gibeon[b] to Gezer.

Forward Thinkers let’s look at this text and be encouraged that the Lord will make a way somehow no matter what the process looks like the Lord is still working things out in our favor.

In verse seventeen the announcement of David’s promotion brought out David’s enemies and we must realize this season everyone will not be cheering for your success. Forward Thinkers notice when the Philistines heard about David’s promotion they began to plot against him and their desire was to destroy him. But, Forward Thinkers also notice David found out about their plans because the Lord won’t leave us in harm’s way.

Verse nineteen states David didn’t panic or complain but David enquired of the Lord what should he do in the face of his enemies coming against him. Forward Thinkers we must realize complaining will never solve our issues but enquiring of the Lord’s directions will always lead us to a breakthrough. Forward Thinkers the Lord told David I will grant you a victory and it will be so obvious that the victory came from the Lord. Forward Thinkers the Lord desires to grant us sweat-less victories this season.

Forward Thinkers in verse twenty-two we see how dedicated the enemy is because the Philistines plot to attack David again even after David had already defeated them in a previous battle. Forward Thinkers the enemy will keep coming at you hoping you will give out but this season we must continue to stand strong believing this battle is not ours but the Lord’s.

Forward Thinkers once again David enquired of the Lord because he knew the Lord could make a way. Forward Thinkers do you still believe no matter the size of the obstacle the Lord can make a way.

Forward Thinkers the Lord gave David a new set of instructions but the results remained the same. David once again was victorious over the enemy and Forward Thinkers the same God of David is the same God of your next victory.

1 Corinthians 15:57New International Version (NIV)

57 But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Forward Thinkers in conclusion against the odds the Lord made a way for David’s victory and today the Lord is making a way against the odds for our victory therefore we must continue to give God thanks no matter what we’re dealing with and stand declaring the Lord will make a way somehow.
