Redeem My Time Pt. 4
“I truly believe that everything that we do and everyone that we meet is put in our path for a purpose. There are no accidents; we’re all teachers – if we’re willing to pay attention to the lessons we learn, trust our positive instincts and not be afraid to take risks or wait for some miracle to come knocking at our door.” –Marla Gibbs
Forward Thinkers, the bible says in this life, we will face trouble but the bible also includes an unconditional promise that God will never leave us; therefore, in the face of trouble we can seek the face of God.
Forward Thinkers, sometimes it ‘feels’ life is moving at such a fast, unfair pace that we have no chance at peace, but we must always remember we serve a God that is bigger than anything we encounter in life.
Forward Thinkers, as we head into the final weeks of 2017 let’s keep the faith and trust God to work things out in our favor.
Joshua 10:12-13 New International Version (NIV)
12 On the day the Lord gave the Amorites over to Israel, Joshua said to the Lord in the presence of Israel:
“Sun, stand still over Gibeon,
and you, moon, over the Valley of Aijalon.”
13 So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on[a] its enemies,as it is written in the Book of Jashar.
The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.
Forward Thinkers, I don’t know about you, but this passage of scriptures encouraged me to trust God at all times because God is able to control every aspect of my life at all times.
Forward Thinkers, the Children of God were in the midst of a war and we can relate today because it clearly appears a war has been called against the Children of God in America, especially those of Color.
Forward Thinkers, the Children of God were under attack from every angle and it appeared hopeless for a period of time, but we will see once again there is nothing too hard for God. Yes, Forward Thinkers, no matter what your current situation looks like, it’s not too big for God to handle it.
Forward Thinkers, has it ever appeared that the world was moving really fast like a merry go round spinning out of control and life had you feeling dizzy.
Unfortunately, many reading this today are experiencing this merry go round feeling due to grieving a loved one to murder, cancer, divorce, sickness, loss of a job, issues with children, addictions, the list goes on and on.
“Lord redeem my time- Stop it from going so fast- Time out- Pause”
“Lord yes, I’m strong but I need a break before I have a breakdown!!!”
Forward Thinkers, Joshua prayed a ridiculous time redeeming prayer.
Forward Thinkers, Joshua prayed a ridiculous time redeeming prayer in the presence of others.
Forward Thinkers, God answered Joshua’s ridiculous time redeeming prayer in a ridiculous time redeeming fashion.
God is no respecter of persons; if He did it before, He can do it again. Forward Thinkers, we must believe.
Question: What gave Joshua this kind of time redeeming faith?
Joshua 10:5 New International Version (NIV)
5 Then the five kings of the Amorites—the kings of Jerusalem, Hebron, Jarmuth, Lachish and Eglon—joined forces. They moved up with all their troops and took up positions against Gibeon and attacked it.
Forward Thinkers, the number 5 in the bible means God’s grace, goodness, and favor and the enemy comes together in a team of 5 to attack the Children of God.
Forward Thinkers, we are so powerful they have to team up against us.
Forward Thinkers, we must recognize that the enemy is not happy with us experiencing God’s goodness.
Forward Thinkers, we will be attacked from people in high places (5 kings) but remember they are little case kings and we serve the King of Kings. They are no match to our Lord and Savior.
Forward Thinkers, sometimes in life it appears we are being attacked in waves of 5 with the enemy coming from the North, South, East and West, plus the pits of hell even sent a representative.
Forward Thinkers, have you ever experienced trouble in your family, trouble on your job, financial trouble, sickness in your body, and negative people all coming at you the wrong way all at the same time?
I’m strong, but dang God, I need a break.
Joshua 10:8 New International Version (NIV)
8 The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them; I have given them into your hand. Not one of them will be able to withstand you.”
The Lord Promised Victory
Joshua experienced victory in chapter 6 when the walls of Jericho came falling down, and Forward Thinkers, when we are experiencing hardships we need to remember past victories in the Lord.
Nature (God produces water in a desert) Water (God rolls it back and Moses crosses through a Red Sea) Wind (peace be still and the water and wind obeyed His voice) TIME (stop I’m God)
Do Not FEAR
Forgetting Everything Already Revealed produces fear
Forward Thinkers, don’t worry, doubt, or fear because God has already promised victory and God is not just a Promise Giver but a Promise Keeper.
Joshua 10:9 New International Version (NIV)
9 After an all-night march from Gilgal, Joshua took them by surprise.
Marched All Night
Forward Thinkers, Joshua worked his faith as he worked
God I believe you but I’m tired and I also understand faith without works is dead and I must have a mindset that no devil in hell will outwork me
Lord redeem my time so I can keep marching, keep moving, keep pressing, and keep pushing
The Lord Rewarded Joshua’s Ridiculous Time Redeeming Prayer
Time Stopped because God is All-Powerful
They regrouped during the break and broke out with a victory
Forward Thinkers, Stand and Pray a Ridiculous Time Redeeming Prayer
Forward Thinkers, Shout Victory in Advance of a Ridiculous Time Redeeming Prayer Being Answered
Forward Thinkers, Sow a Ridiculous SEED to Ignite a Ridiculous Time Redeeming Breakthrough
