It’s Time To Put Your Life Back Together – 1 Kings 17:7-24

Forward Thinkers, please put your hand in front of your mouth and blow into your hand as hard as you can. The fact you that felt something is evidence that you are alive but it’s not proof you are living. – John 10:10 New International Version (NIV)

10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.

The Thief – comes to steal, kill, and destroy your ability to be GREAT

Jesus – comes to give new life and life to the full, allowing you to be GREAT

Forward Thinkers, our relationship with Jesus opens the gate to us reaching our full potential. We are not saved to struggle, to be in lack, or to live at the bottom of the totem pole.

Forward Thinkers, it’s time the Body of Christ got resuscitated and climbs up the charts of life.

I want to win and I want everyone connected to me to win in every area of life.

I’m praying daily for IG – Increased Growth in your life.

Matthew 16:18-19 New International Version (NIV)

18 And I tell you that you are Peter,[a] and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades[b] will not overcome it. 19 I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be[c]bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be[d] loosed in heaven.”

Church – gates of Hell will not overcome

Forward Thinkers, God gave the church the keys to success, that’s why the devil is trying so hard to devalue the church in the 21st century.

Keys in a car turns on the engine allowing the car to go forward.

Keys unlock doors granting access.

Forward Thinkers, we have been given the keys to go forward and we have received access to an unlimited future. – 1 Kings 17:7-24

12 “As surely as the Lord your God lives,” she replied, “I don’t have any bread—only a handful of flour in a jar and a little olive oil in a jug. I am gathering a few sticks to take home and make a meal for myself and my son, that we may eat it—and die.”

13 Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go home and do as you have said. But first make a small loaf of bread for me from what you have and bring it to me, and then make something for yourself and your son.14 For this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: ‘The jar of flour will not be used up and the jug of oil will not run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the land.’”

15 She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. 16 For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.

17 Some time later the son of the woman who owned the house became ill. He grew worse and worse, and finally stopped breathing. 18 She said to Elijah, “What do you have against me, man of God? Did you come to remind me of my sin and kill my son?”

19 “Give me your son,” Elijah replied. He took him from her arms, carried him to the upper room where he was staying, and laid him on his bed.20 Then he cried out to the Lord, “Lord my God, have you brought tragedy even on this widow I am staying with, by causing her son to die?” 21 Then he stretched himself out on the boy three times and cried out to the Lord, “Lord my God, let this boy’s life return to him!”

22 The Lord heard Elijah’s cry, and the boy’s life returned to him, and he lived. 23 Elijah picked up the child and carried him down from the room into the house. He gave him to his mother and said, “Look, your son is alive!”

24 Then the woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God and that the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth.”

Vs.7 – Sometime later the brook dried up

What took place before the brook dried up ? We must look back at verse 1-6. Elijah the Prophet drank from the brook during a famine and the Lord assigned ravens to bring him food.

Forward Thinkers, a raven is an opportunist and eats everything it can find, but God turned a taker into a giver.

God is preparing and positioning someone right now to shift from being a taker to a giver and supply you with what you need this season. The question is, when the raven shows up will you have the spiritual insight to recognize a move of God?

Forward Thinkers, don’t let tradition, ego, or pain from past experiences cancel your blessings this season. Notice I keep saying this season because it won’t last forever.

Vs.12 – A Desperate Situation

Widow and son left in poverty and the bible doesn’t give any details on a husband, but the current state of affairs speaks for itself, he left them with nothing.

Brothers, don’t ball out and die leaving your family stuck out.

Vs.13 – Obedience/Faith During a Desperate Situation

Elijah, the Man of God, gave spiritual instructions to the widow in a desperate situation. Remember the Lord had previously given Elijah some spiritual instructions that didn’t make sense in the natural. Go to a brook during a famine and be fed by a raven; but Elijah obeyed and was blessed in a mess.

Elijah knew obedience and faith works. Now the widow woman was being put to the test.

Will you choke and say I don’t have enough to give or will you give because you realize you don’t have enough to live and not give.

Vs. 15 – She Followed Spiritual Instructions

They asked Jesus how to pray and He said give us this day our daily bread, meaning God would provide us with what we needed every day.

Forward Thinkers, faith and obedience pays off because God is both a Promise Giver and a Promise Keeper.

Vs. 17 – Some time later……

Son became ill and grew worse and worse until finally he stop breathing.

Vs. 18 – A Battle Between Faith and Situation

Warning: Don’t allow the voice of the devil to cancel the voice of God. Faith is bigger than what you see or feel. Fact is based on you believing the Word you have already received.

Vs. 19 – Give Me Your Son

1) He took the boy from his mother

2) Carried him to upper room

3) Covered the boy (Mentorship)

Vs.22 The boy was resuscitated, life returned back to him and he started to live.

Forward Thinkers, notice life and living are different positions because everyone has life, but everyone is not living.

Elijah picked up the child and carried him back to his mother saying, look your son is alive.

Vs. 24 – Now I know you are a man of God and the word of the Lord from your mouth is the truth.

A) Set Man
