Taraji P. Henson’s Wins Golden Globe, Leonardo DiCaprio’s Face Tells a Great Story and More…

It’s that time of the year again. No, not tax time. Awards season! Thus, the Golden Globes happened. Ricky Gervais returned to host said Golden Globe Awards Show (73rd Annual) and I have to say… I will always be grateful to him for birthing the show ‘The Office’. However, as host of an awards show…he just doesn’t do it for me. But hey…who asked me, right?!? A few stand-out moments of the evening included friend-in-my-head Taraji P. Henson winning the Golden Globe for best actress in a TV drama (Empire). She summoned a strong slow clap from me when she began her speech by saying, “Hollywood Foreign Press, thank you. I mean, who knew that playing an ex-convict would take me all around the globe?” We know the deal…Denzel, Halle…the awards always come in for those “types” of roles; still a well-deserved and long overdue moment for one of the hardest working women in Hollywood. I’m glad Taraji was recognized and took all the time she needed onstage. “I’ve waited 20 years for this, you’re gonna wait!” Taraji said as the exit music was cued up.Leonardo DiCaprio and Lady Gaga have a Moment

Another great moment was the look on Leonardo Dicaprio’s face when Lady Gaga brushed his arm on the way to the stage. (The SHADE…) Leo’s speech was spot on as well. Here’s hoping he finally gets that Oscar that he’s due. Finally, Sylvester Stallone winning for Creed was pretty awesome.
