March of Dimes – March For Babies Kickoff

                                                        Mission Families

2017 March of Dimes Houston March for Babies Chair, Cris Daskevich who is also the President of Texas Children’s Hospital Pavilion for Women, is leading the effort to raise $3 million. Premature birth is the leading cause of death among babies in the United States. Anyone can sign up to walk, join a team, and or donate to help babies. The Houston March for Babies is on Sunday, April 23, 2017, at the University of Houston – Main Campus.

Funds raised by the March for Babies in the Houston area will support the March of Dimes programs. Houston area families, businesses, and volunteers dedicated to giving more babies a healthy start in life took part in this year’s March for Babies Kickoff event. March for Babies is the March of Dimes largest fundraiser, with 35,000 walkers bringing in more than $3 million in Houston last year. Leanne and Kieran O’Brien, this year’s Houston Ambassador family, shared their story at the event. For more information visit to register for the March for Babies.

8th Annual Shaving Cream Pi(e) Fight

                                                  Program Participants

The Children’s Museum of Houston recently held their 13th Annual π (Pi) day celebration. The Children’s Museum of Houston is where the original, international π (Pi) Day sensation that started more than a decade ago began; and this year, the celebration continued with their 8th Annual Shaving Cream Pi(e) Fight. More than 80 participants duked it out in an amazingly messy, pi(e) fight. Pi Day is March 14 and celebrates the infinite, non-repeating number of 3.14.
