The Callie Lewis-Watson Forty Plus Models presented A Fabulous First Annual Founder’s Day Celebration on Sunday, October 8th, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. at the Los Alcatraces Reception Hall located at 11939 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Texas 77039. This fabulous luncheon was to celebrate the life of the founder, Callie Lewis-Watson and her more than twenty-five years of service that included a fashionable hats parade style show. The emcees were Vivian Singleton and Debra Lockett and the welcome was by model Faye Bland. The fashion show commentator was J.B. Boykin.
Miami Vice Gala Presented by the Children’s Museum of Houston
BB&T and Phillips 66 underwrites a hot 80s throwback themed “Miami Vice” Gala, raising nearly $1 million. This event took place on Saturday, October 14, 2017, at the Corinthian located in Downtown Houston. The Miami Vice Gala raises funds to benefit the educational outreach at the Children’s Museum of Houston. The event co-chairs were Gina and Dr. Devinder Bhatia and Molly and Matthew LaFauci. More than 500 guests attended this event sporting white suits, Ray-Bans, and danced the night away to the sounds of Empire 6 presented by J&D Entertainment. There was a display of a white Ferrari Testarossa, just like the one on television, which was generously donated by the Valobra Master Jewelers.
TWEF Presents Moguls in Media Reception Gala
On Friday, October 13, 2017 at 7:45 p.m., a reception gala was held at Univision located at 5100 Southwest Freeway, Houston, Texas 77056. The TWEF Reception Gala celebrated Deavra Daughtry and TWEF’s 15 years of Serving Local & Global Communities with live entertainment, food. and remarkable networking opportunities. Awards were presented to national and global media personalities: David Loving, Univision; Willard Jackson, EBONY Magazine; D’Artagnan Bebel, Fox TV; Judy Foston-Stanford, Foston International Communications; Jacquelyn Aluotto, FUBU-TV and Pamela B. McKay, Radio One Houston. Invited artist and Grammy Award Winner, Estelle performed. Proceeds benefited Hurricane Harvey relief efforts. Honorary Chairmen were Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner and David Loving.
