Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner Hosts Back To School Fest

Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner recently partnered with CenterPoint Energy, Houston First Corp., Kroger’s, Metro, Shell Oil Company, University of Houston, and United Airlines to host the 7th annual back to school fest on August 12, 2017, at the George R. Brown Convention Center where thousands attended. The Mayor’s Back to School Fest is designed to help economically disadvantaged Houston area students as they prepare to return to school.

The first 50 children will receive Mercedes-Benz of Sugar Land swag bags with autographs on Saturday, August 19, 2017, beginning at 10 a.m. This is all made possible by the Children’s Museum of Houston.

The Williams – Calloway Family Reunion was a complete family affair with several family events in the City of Crockett, Texas. The family reunion began with a family meetup at the Feed Store where everyone had a delicious meal. The reunion concluded with a church service at Willams Chapel founded in 1916, founded by my great great great grandfather where it continues to stand to this day. It was a wonderful celebration full of family and friends.

Miller Lite Tap the Future Live Pitch Tour Stops in Houston, Texas

Aurora, Colorado-based business, Lithic Nutrition were program participants who finished first at the Miller Lite Tap the Future Live Pitch regional tour in Houston, Texas

Business expert Daymond John from ABC’s Shark Tank and Miller Lite Tap the Future stopped in Houston, Texas for the 3rd stop of the 2017 Live Pitch Tour. The national business plan competition offers entrepreneurs a chance to compete for a grand prize of $100K. The Aurora, Colorado-based business, Lithic Nutrition, a cricket-based food company, came out on top as regional winner for Houston. Lithic Nutrition won $20,000 at the Houston stop of the Miller Lite Tap the Future Live Pitch Tour. The startup is now headed to the final round for a shot at the $100K Grand Prize. The company will now compete against five other regional winners for the 2017 Tap the Future title. Good luck and congratulations to the Lithic Nutrition!
