What Christmas Brings

mills-christmas-black-familyGod gave us an eternal Christmas gift: Jesus. The birth of Jesus is the most confronting fact of human existence, because Jesus reveals who God is, who man is, and what man can become (Christ-like). God gave us the best of Himself, because “God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16). And, why did God do so? “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world: but that the world through him might be saved.” (John 3:17). God’s desire was that all individuals know the one and only true God, and His Son Jesus Christ, and therefore, receive life eternally. “And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.” (John 17:3). This, America, is God’s perfect gift to the world, and we should never forget that Jesus is the reason for the season. Jesus brings an abundance of spiritual gifts that cannot be purchased in department stores, for example: Instruction in godliness, spiritual enlightenment, correction, reproof, sound doctrine, and motivation for salvation. Jesus was and still is a peacemaker. “For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.” (1 Corinthians 14:33). Jesus brought peace on earth and good will towards all.

Jesus worked in a carpentry shop for thirty years. For three years he was an itinerant preacher of the Gospel of Good News. He never wrote a book, because He was the “Book Of Life”. Jesus never held public office. He never built a physical church, because his church-building activities were dedicated to saving souls (building healthy spiritual lives). Jesus did not own a home, or live in an exclusive high-rise building. He did not go to an Ivy League University or attend a State-supported college or university, but He was the smartest man to have ever lived. In fact, Jesus never did any of the things we associate with as “prominence or greatness”.

Jesus was born in a stable, because there was no room for him in a motel, hotel, Holiday Inn, or a place like “Trump Tower”. For example, applications for residency at any Trump owned properties were coded no “C’s” allowed that is no “coloreds” allowed. And, the “Trumpster” recently paid an enormous fine without admitting criminal culpability in the Trump University scandal.

America, “how shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him.” (Hebrews 2:3). All individuals should “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needed not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2 Timothy 2: 15).

The name Jesus is more powerful than all the Armies that have ever marched, all the Navies that have ever sailed, all the governments that have ever existed; including the former Soviet Union. For, without a doubt, the name Jesus is more powerful, because the name Jesus came from Heaven. Because “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” (Acts 4: 12).

The CROSS is at the center of Christmas, simply because the CROSS calls for an important life-altering decision. Of course, individuals should not confuse outward appearance with inward reality. This, my fellow Americans is the real meaning of Christmas. Christmas should be centered in the home (Family-Affair), not a department-store-materialistic-experience.

Now, I must forewarn you concerning what the New Year will usher in for American society, as well as, the world community. Even though Donald J. Trump tried to act-like God by declaring he, and only he can fix it; let’s not place our ultimate trust in any mortal male. Only God deserves our ultimate trust. But, fret not, the “peace” that you have, President Trump did not give, and he can’t take away (John 14: 27). Moreover, God Has The Last Word; even though Donald J. Trump is a “TROUBLE-MAKER and a PEACE-BREAKER” with all capital letters.

Christian Right Evangelicals, “you” must answer to God for why you chose such a male as Donald J. Trump. For he has presented himself to the world as a money-changer, self-centered- racist, religious bigot, carnal minded, xenophobia oriented personality, and above all, as a chronic non-truth-teller. America hold President Trump to his “lying words” put Hillary in jail was the battle-cry of Donald J. Trump and his non-spiritual-minded-followers, but remember, what goes around comes around. Build the wall, high, wide, and strong. Ban all non-Christians from coming to America, and at the same time, remember why your forefathers came to America. Become an ally of Russia and Putin (one of the greatest offenders of social democracy). Decimate America’s universal public educational system. Continue to promote the “fool-hearty” idea that nature is an unending-plentiful resource that can be exploited for personal gain for the “few” over against the well-being of the many. Deny the man-made issues related to climate change. Above all, Trump loyalists keep-on believing that only Donald J. Trump can fix it.

Finally, Donald J. Trump loyalists, while you continue to drink the “Trump Kool-Aid” know this: “For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” (Romans 14: 11-12). Christian Right Evangelicals, you should have not been spiritually confused and acted foolishly. And, scripturally here’s the reason why: “Be not deceived: evil communication corrupt good manners.” (1 Corinthians 15:33).

The Press has an “intellectual-moral-responsibility-obligation” to investigate the truth, advocate for the truth, and above all, tell the truth through print-publication-news and T.V., and radio news outlets. Neglecting to pursue the issue of the “Trumpster” not revealing his personal federal income taxes is a monumental mistake. “The Lord gave the word: great was the company of those that published it.” (Psalm 68: 11). Biblically and spiritually Word is synonymous with “TRUTH”. Selah!
