Good news arrived on R&B songstress Keyshia Cole’s doorstep this Friday the 13th. The “Love” singer shared with her thousands of followers on Instagram that she’s found her father after 34 years.
After taking a paternity test that confirmed reported boxing trainer Virgil Hunter is in fact her biological dad, Cole revealed that she became overwhelmed with emotions, and is currently in Oakland, Calif., spending precious time getting to know him.
“The story behind this is beyond me!!!!” she writes. “God has his hands all in this!!! I’m so excited. So excited with taking this a day at a time!!!”
Cole has remained open throughout the years about the emotional stress she faced while searching for her birth father. Throughout the seasons of her hit BET reality show, The Way It Is, viewers joined the award-winning singer on her bumpy journey, which at times brought her to a dead end when paternity test results came back inconclusive.
