National College Resources Foundation’s 17th Annual Black College Expo Tour returns to Houston Saturday February 27th 2016 at The Power Center. Black College Expo will team up with Los Angeles Radio Stations and celebrities, and visit several schools and colleges to help students gain access to college and career opportunities. Black College Expo has partnered with several corporate companies like Intel, Toyota, Lockheed Martin, Time Warner, Unified Grocers, Emma Bowen Foundation, Peace Corps, U.S. Marine Corps, US Army, and other organizations to create a College Student Career & Resource Center to help high students and college students not only gain access to college, but gain access to internships and careers in the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM), and other fields. With the shortage of minority engineers, especially African Americans and women, Black College Expo will feature a Career Center Pavilion at all the expos, and it will provide a talent pool for companies seeking diverse students majoring in STEAM related disciplines. It will also serve as a hub for students looking for internships and career opportunities. And to bring excitement and financial resources Black College Expo will be giving away book scholarships every hour in addition to the over $5,000 in scholarships given away expo day.
Close to 100 colleges and educational programs will be on site to recruit students to attend their colleges. Some colleges will even offer on-the-spot acceptance, waived college application fees, and give away scholarships on the spot, and band scholarships up to $80,000 on the spot! National College Resources Foundation is a full service outreach program working with students daily providing intervention, mentoring, and college and career planning. For 17 years NCRF/BCE have assisted over 400,000 students with access to college and have given away over $500,000 in scholarships. Through college partnerships and financial assistance programs NCRF has helped students secure over 70 million in scholarships. BCE tour also visits Atlanta, Los Angeles, Oakland, DC/Maryland, and New York.
