Genesis 12:2 New King James Version (NKJV)
2 I will make you a great
nation; I will bless you
And make your name great; And you shall be a blessing.
Forward Thinkers, God says once you leave negative people, places, and positions I’m going to make you great.
Forward Thinkers, God also promised I’m going to bless you and make your name great so stop getting discouraged by the naysayers.
God then says I’ll do all this so you can be a blessing to others.
Forward Thinkers, today, be encouraged. God has not switched up on you like others have along the way.
My goal today is to encourage you into believing that you are blessed and that God desires to do great things for you and through you.
Forward Thinkers, before we go farther let’s start making a German chocolate cake from scratch. We have eggs, buttermilk, butter, flour, sugar, German chocolate bars, vanilla extract, and chopped up pecans that make up the ingredients. Notice once all the ingredients are mixed together we start calling them a German chocolate cake even though there are more steps to take before it can be served to others.
Romans 4:17 New International Version (NIV)
17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.
Romans 4:17-18 The Message (MSG)
17-18 We call Abraham “father” not because he got God’s attention by living like a saint, but because God made something out of Abraham when he was a nobody. Isn’t that what we’ve always read in Scripture, God saying to Abraham, “I set you up as father of many peoples”? Abraham was first named “father” and then became a father because he dared to trust God to do what only God could do: raise the dead to life; with a word, make something out of nothing. When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live, not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do. And so he was made father of a multitude of peoples. God himself said to him, “You’re going to have a big family, Abraham!”
Forward Thinkers, be encouraged. God has blessed us and empowered us to call things into existence. But, remember it requires total faith and active faith to bring it to pass.
Before Abram became the father of Isaac, God called him the father of many nations.
Understand this, God starts calling Abram-Abraham before the promise was manifested.
Forward Thinkers, be encouraged. You are blessed even during the process. Be encouraged. You are blessed and God desires for you to be great and do great things.
Matthew 5:3-10 New International Version (NIV)
3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
5 Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
6 Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
7 Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
9 Blessed are the
peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Forward Thinkers, God calls us blessed then tells us about all the trials and tribulations we will face but Jesus never cancels the fact that we are blessed.
Too many put more focus on the problems than they put faith on the promises.
The German chocolate cake goes in the oven and the fire and heat will change it. The fire will not destroy it but develop it into its full potential. Remember the three Hebrew boys felt the heat of the fire but never panicked because they put their total faith in God.
1 Samuel 16:12 New International Version (NIV)
12 So he sent for him and had him brought in. He was glowing with health and had a fine appearance and handsome features.
Then the Lord said, “Rise and anoint him; this is the one.”
1 Samuel 17:34-37 New International Version (NIV)
34 But David said to Saul, “Your servant has been keeping his father’s sheep. When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, 35 I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep from its mouth. When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, struck it and killed it.36 Your servant has killed both the lion and the bear; this uncircumcised Philistine will be like one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God. 37 The Lord who rescued me from the paw of the lion and the paw of the bear will rescue me from the hand of this Philistine.”
Saul said to David, “Go, and the Lord be with you.”
Forward Thinkers, David is anointed to be King but goes back to serving King Saul and his father Jesse. David had to fight both a lion and a bear while serving others but because he was anointed by God he was victorious.
Listen to this: the battle with the lion left scars and hurt, but David won when it was all said and done.
The battle with the bear was preparing David for a future battle with Goliath, the giant.
A grizzly bear stands at 10 feet tall and the bible says Goliath was 9.5 feet tall. God has already given you victory over something bigger than what you are fighting with now. SHOUT: GOD ALREADY DID IT.
The battle didn’t change David from being anointed.
The scars didn’t stop David from being anointed.
The rejection of others could not deny David from being anointed.
Forward Thinkers, let’s go back to the German chocolate cake and observe once it comes out the oven it goes through a cooling off period. This is the place God has prepared for us right before we reach our place of visible blessings and supernatural favor.
Sometimes this looks like nothing is happening but the cooling off period is also a maturing period because if the icing comes too early it will damage the German chocolate cake.
Stop trying to drip too soon and trust the process God has prepared for you.
The final step is applying the icing which is God’s grace covering us so we can be served.
Forward Thinkers, be encouraged. Everything you went through was designed to get you to a place where God could use you to meet the needs of others and bring Him glory.
