“What’s the point of being alive if you don’t at least try to do something remarkable?” John Green
Forward Thinkers, we were born to make a difference.
Matthew 5:13-16 New International Version (NIV)
Salt and Light
13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot.
14 “You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. 15 Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. 16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Forward Thinkers, we were born to be both salt and light. Forward Thinkers, salt influences whatever it comes in contact with and we were born to be a positive influence on a negative world and we must remember light has the power to overcome darkness therefore we have the power to shine in the midst of darkness.
Forward Thinkers, let your light shine so men will see you and glorify you. No that’s the wrong attitude and that selfish approach is a major cause of why the darkness still appears to have power. Forward Thinkers, we have enough preachers and politicians parading around promoting themselves this season we need people to put aside their egos and become ambassadors of change.
Forward Thinkers the aim and purpose of your life should be to bring glory to God through your life activities. Forward Thinkers when we aim to glorify God our life becomes so much more impactful and meaningful. The purpose of our life is to bring God glory and the great news is God created us on purpose with our purpose in mind. A purpose driven life brings God glory and brings us peace and joy.
Forward Thinkers because we are born to make a difference let’s make sure we understand what being a difference maker means.
Difference – a characteristic that distinguishes one from the average, a significant change in or effect on a situation
Forward Thinkers look at your hands your hands are different than any person in the whole wide world because God has a purpose for you to use your hands to do something nobody else can do.
Forward Thinkers being average and fitting in will never bring you total life satisfaction and always remember when light or salt touches something it has the power to change it and affect it and we were born to be both light and salt.
Forward Thinkers God has a plan and purpose for your life.
Jeremiah 29:11 New International Version (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Forward Thinkers according to Jeremiah 29:11 God plans to prosper you (not to harm you) and plans to give you hope and a future. We were born to prosper.
Forward Thinkers let’s look back to God’s original plan for our lives so we can return back to our original state of power and authority. In Genesis 1:26 God said let us make man in our image and in our likeness. Then God said let them rule over the earth with power and authority. Forward Thinkers I declare we will return back to headship.
Then in Genesis 1:27 God made sure we understood both males and females were created by Him to have power and authority and in Genesis 1:28 He commands us to be successful, to be fruitful, and to increase. Forward Thinkers it is clear we were born and empowered to prosper.
Forward Thinkers Satan interfered with God’s plan for our lives and in Genesis 3:1 Satan desires to talk you out of God’s plan for your life the same way he talked Eve out of her perfect position of power and authority. Forward Thinkers this season please don’t fall for Satan’s tricks and lies because in Genesis 3:24 we see Adam and Eve were driven out of their place of power and authority and today many are still operating outside the perfect will of God for their lives. Forward Thinkers remember Satan desires to keep you on the outside looking in.
Forward Thinkers let’s return back to the life of Moses, a man that was born to lead his people out of bondage and poverty. Forward Thinkers it’s very important we discover our life purpose as well.
Exodus 3:4 Forward Thinkers God called Moses out and we must focus this season on hearing the voice of God. Forward Thinkers sometimes you must remove yourself from all the noise and listen to God.
Exodus 3:10 Forward Thinkers in verse ten God said to Moses so now go I am sending you. Forward Thinkers like Moses God created us with assignment and purpose in mind. This season we must get up and go because we were created to be difference makers.
Exodus 3:11 Forward Thinkers Moses suffered from identify crisis because he allowed fear and doubt to stop him from responding. Forward Thinkers Moses asked the question who am I that I can become a difference maker. Forward Thinkers God created us to be the salt and light of the world this season we can’t afford to lose our true identify.
Exodus 3:13 Forward Thinkers in verse thirteen Moses asked God suppose no one listens to me or pays any attention to me. Forward Thinkers you must be bold in your assignment and stop creating fear and worrying about what other people think. Forward Thinkers remember at all times you were born to do this.
Exodus 4:1 In Exodus 4:1 Moses is now asking what if they say God did not send me. Forward Thinkers we were born to do this and we must destroy every excuse or hurdle in our way and operate with child-like faith. Remember when you were a child and you thought you could fly that’s the kind of faith you need this season to operate like a difference maker.
Forward Thinkers in conclusion we must hold strong to the fact Jesus said we could do all things in His name and this season in the name of Jesus we must assume our assignments as the salt and the light of this world and operate as the difference makers we were born to be.
