We have a Constitution but few Americans are willing to abide by the godly principles recorded therein. Seemingly, we are still living in the immoral era of the black codes with ungodly remnants of the Southern Confederacy, Abraham Lincoln versus Jefferson Davis, North versus South and Slave States versus Free States. All of this social-political-economic confusion is oriented toward economic slavery, right to work States versus Union states and above all political stagnation. The social design of all of this socio-political-confusion is for the poor to make the rich, richer, and of course, thus far it is working efficiently because the economic gap between the (Haves versus Have-nots) has widened. But, on the other hand, moral confusion is a no-win state of existence because no one wins in a game that is oriented toward spiritual moral corruption. In moral confusion an individual does have a choice, but in corruption there is no choice, only evil perpetration prevails. Therefore, a zero-sum-political game is not a game at all.
Question: What does the future hold for America? Question: What is America’s plan for its own future? There are four primary reasons why the Republican Party needs to transform its political image in minority communities, especially black and Hispanics communities:
- The need for a level playing field in the workforce arena.
- The need to technically train a new workforce with twenty-first century technical skills.
- The need for creating new taxpayers in order to pay for needed infrastructure repairs and governmental social services.
- A new pool of potential voters.
It is, indeed, an unfortunate set of circumstances that the Republican Party has created for itself as well as for American society in general. The Republican Party of Abraham Lincoln sought to build a moral foundation for society. Life resembles travel in that you pay for the ride you choose. The Republican Party of the twenty-first century has chosen to travel a road that represents corporate selfish hoarding rather than generous societal sharing. This, in turn, has created political stagnation in our governmental system at every level. Without a doubt, this set of circumstances has created a humpty-dumpty sat on the wall scenario for the Grand Old Party.
On the one hand, the political foundation of the Republican Party, the Christian Right and the TEA Party cater exclusively to dominant cultural tenets. While, on the other hand, American society is a multi-cultural society and increasingly the minority is becoming the majority. In fact, the Christian Right is oftentimes the Christian wrong because their value constructs are more about Party politics than Christian values. The TEA Party appears to be the Tree Party more interested in electronically hanging its perceived enemies than dumping tea in a harbor.
Where do we go from here is the question: Godly society or ungodly chaos?
My spiritual as well as political vote is for heaven on earth. WHY? Because all of us are God’s children and our heavenly father desires that we share and share alike because equal is equal, not equal is more or less equal. Indeed, the earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof.
This editorial is not simply intended to be a put down of the Republican Party. The Democratic Party has its own glaring moral contradictions that must be creatively addressed as well.
Love is the criteria because love breaks down all barriers. Love is the godly standard for life, because in God there is light and no darkness at all. Love covers a multitude of sins. Jesus declared: “Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him” (1 John 2: 15). Finally, my fellow Americans: “Let us love one another: for love is of God; and everyone that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God” (1 John 4:7). Keep yourself from idols is a word to the wise, because common sense is not always common. It is profoundly true that the love of money is the root of all evil. “Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun. For wisdom is defense and money is a defense: but the excellency of knowledge is that wisdom giveth life to them that have it” (Ecclesiastes 7:11). Money is neutral because the only value that money has is the value that individuals attach to it.
