Da Pink Celebrity is undoubtedly known as the “originator” of the pink hair, and her 500k followers can attest to that.
Sharlene Dismuke, commonly known as Da Pink Celebrity, is an inspiration to all artists and entrepreneurs alike. Despite many challenges throughout her career, “Pink” is rapidly rising to the top with her unstoppable grind.
Dismuke grew up in the “Dead End” area of Crestmont Park, but knew she was destined for more. As the second youngest of six kids in a single- mother household, she learned quickly how to survive.
Determined to find her own path, Dismuke left home at age 16 and began working as a stripper, adopting the stage name “Baby Doll,” because of her small frame (standing only 4 feet 11 inches tall) and innocent look. She used her income to help her family, and quickly set her sights on the music industry.
Dismuke became a professional rapper in 2002, but she could remember freestyling as early as elementary school. In an industry crawling with men wanting to take advantage of her, Dismuke, musically known as “Da Pink Celebrity” quickly realized the only way to fund her projects was to build her own platforms.
One such platform is the “Pink Stunnas,” a car club she founded in 2003 known for their signature pink vehicles. All members of the group are entrepreneurs in various industries. The Pink Stunnas made Pink stand out from other up-and-coming artists, because instead of asking people to listen to her mixtape, people came to her asking her all about herself.
A breakup with a partner led to Pink losing the majority of her music, but that didn’t stand in her way. She released her first single “Bang Bang” in 2017 and her most recent single “She Don’t Like me” was released this summer and is continuing to climb the streaming charts.
Da Pink Celebrity music can be found on iTunes, Spotify, and other streaming platforms.
