The arrival of the First Family in Cuba on Sunday marked the first time a U.S. President has stepped foot on Cuban soil in 88 years. The last President to visit Cuba was President Calvin Coolidge in 1928. The historical visit is another step towards the concerted effort to have better relations between the two countries, and in time dismantle the US Embargo. While there is much progress to be made in that regard, it appeared as though the first family was received graciously. 17-year old Malia Obama was spotted by White House photographer Pete Souza serving as her father’s interpreter during visits with the locals.
