IN 2020, PURSUE IT !!!
Forward Thinkers, in 2020 we will walk under the prophetic promises of God. As a matter of fact, not only in 2020 but in this entire new decade we will pursue everything God has promised us.
Forward Thinkers, we stand in agreement that in spite of the trials and tribulations of the last decade we are on our way into the greatest decade of our lives and we will pursue God and the things of God with unprecedented passion and commitment.
Pursue (verb)-to chase down with the intent to overtake, defeat, or obtain.
Bible Gateway research states there are 5,467 promises in the bible and I’m declaring we are going to release the faith needed to pursue them all.
1 Samuel 30:8 New International Version (NIV)
8 and David inquired of the Lord, “Shall I pursue this raiding party? Will I overtake them?”
“Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake them and succeed in the rescue.”
1 Samuel 30:6-7 New International Version (NIV)
6 David was greatly distressed because the men were talking of stoning him; each one was bitter in spirit because of his sons and daughters. But David found strength in the Lord his God.
7 Then David said to Abiathar the priest, the son of Ahimelek, “Bring me the ephod.” Abiathar brought it to him,
David was ___________ because_______________.
David was greatly distressed (suffering from anxiety, sorrow, or pain)
because the men were talking about stoning him.
David’s spirit was affected by his situation.
Forward Thinkers, Sean ‘Puff Daddy’ Combs confessed of experiencing depression in 2019 and several Pastors have made videos lately sharing their reality of ministry burn-out and emotional heaviness.
Forward Thinkers, the realities of 2017-18-19 is that you went through some real stuff—Hurricane Harvey was real, the divorce or break-up was real, the death of a love one was real, the health issue was/is real, and let’s not even talk about realness of the financial hardships in America.
Forward Thinkers, with all that in mind we are still here because God is still in control and God is bigger than any situation we may encounter.
Do you see what I see in the text. The men felt bad about their personal situations and they turned on David. Forward Thinkers, you learn a lot about relationships under difficult times. Instead of supporting each other through it all, they took their frustrations out on David.
It’s amazing how the one giving the most is often the one dumped on the most, but through the optimistic eyes of faith I believe the one attacked the most is also the strongest.
I’ll drop this here and encourage you to trust God:
1) God is absolutely trustworthy
2) God is unchanging
3) God has the power and will to fulfill His promises
Forward Thinkers, the big question is not about God but do you have the faith to pursue the prophetic promises of God?
Look back at the text BUT David found strength in the Lord
Forward Thinkers, yes that’s most of our testimonies we’re still standing because we found strength in the Lord.
David asked for the ephod (Priestly garment) to reconnect himself with God.
Forward Thinkers, what do you wear in 2020 to reconnect with God and position yourself to pursue God?
Ephesians 6:10-11 New International Version (NIV)
The Armor of God
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
David is now in position to pursue—(side note): some things can only be done through prayer and fasting.
Question and Answers with God:
1) Shall we pursue?
2) Will we be successful?
God responds to David, yes, pursue and you will definitely be successful.
Forward Thinkers, I’m declaring God is responding to us in 2020; yes, pursue it, and yes, you will be successful in your pursuit.
Make sure you notice after God confirms their victory tour many drop off and stay behind because they are too exhausted to cross the valley but David and 400 hundred men continued the pursuit.
Forward Thinkers, the chapter opens up with David and his men in a bad situation but God turned their situation around and they pursued the enemy in faith and God granted them the victory.
Forward Thinkers, it’s your time to pursue your IT and travel in the victory lane.
