Princess Jackson, who is a phenomenal 13-year old local actress that has been regularly featured in the Forward Times, recently appeared on the Steve Harvey Show along with three other young people who are doing great things in their community in a segment called “Real Good” which spotlights kids who go above and beyond to give back to others.
Jackson founded Sock Out Poverty, Inc. in December 2014 to provide socks to the homeless community after seeing many of them having a need for the small item.
During the segment, the kids received a great surprise when talk show host/comedian Steve Harvey gave each one of his young guests a check for $5,000 towards their nonprofit organizations.
“It was exciting to meet Mr. Harvey and to receive a check for $5,000 for my organization,” said Jackson! “This will definitely help Sock Out Poverty reach our goal of providing socks to the homeless community on a global level!”
Since its inception, Sock Out Poverty has donated close to 11,000 pairs of socks in the Houston, Beaumont, Dallas and San Antonio communities. Congrats to you, Princess Jackson!
