This past March 2nd – 4th, Pastor Mia Wright held her annual Metamorphosis Conference at The Fountain of Praise Church in Houston, Texas. Mia is Co-Pastor at The Fountain of Praise, a 22,000 member congregation with her husband, Senior Pastor Remus Wright.
Along with Pastor Mia, this year featured guest speakers: Pastor Sheryl Brady, The Potters House North, Dallas, TX; Rev. Dr. Elaine Flake, The Greater Allen A.M.E. Cathedral Of New York, Jamaica Queens, NY; and Rev. Dr. Gina Stewart, Christ Missionary Baptist Church, Memphis, TN.
Beyond the actual Metamorphosis Conference, empowerment seminars were held that provided practical applications, tools, resources and developmental skills to women to achieve personal success. Various subjects are discussed and programs typically include leadership seminars, career development, health empowerment, speakers training and other topics.
On Wednesday, March 2nd, several young women shared their stories on finding their purpose and pursuing it with passion during the impactful session for young people called, “The Millenials Speak! Gifted, Anointed and Living on Purpose!” Attendees were inspired by these millennials, as they were able to show that you don’t have to be a certain age to learn your purpose in life and actually live it. Panel participants included Kia Grandberry Moore; Christina Letsinger; Tia Martinez; Adrienne Richardson; and Kim Roxie. The session was hosted by beauty and lifestyle expert Lady Emmy.
On Thursday, March 3rd, moderator Nikki Woods, senior producer of the Tom Joyner Morning Show, delved into a deep into a conversation called “An Honest Conversation: What A Man Really Wants,” with four men who opened up and shared what men really want. The panel included Jay Barnett, the founder/president of TheMEproject, who is also an author, inspirational speaker and former football player; Al Davis, a licensed patent attorney who is known to his clients as “the ideas lawyer” and has worked with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, Oscars and the Grammys; Gerald Haddon, a Grammy-nominated songwriter, producer and artist, who has penned songs for Isaac Carree, Mary Mary and Kierra Sheard to name a few; and Rev. AJ, a pastor and missionary, who is known for his work in radio as he writes and produces national sports updates for broadcast on seven Christian radio stations.
On Friday, March 4th, Rinovum Women’s Health offered information to women struggling with infertility from a clinical and biblical perspective. This session served as a means to encourage those struggling with infertility that they still have a purpose in God, with or without a child.
In 2000, Pastor Mia followed through on a vision given to her by God to create a women’s conference that would be deeply impactful, inspirational, and transformational. Guided by her passion for ministry, this conference has emerged as one of the largest and most successful mega-women’s conferences in the United States.
For over 15 Years, the Metamorphosis Conference has inspired women to make positive changes that empower them for life and has positively impacted the lives of thousands of women.
