Top Teen Courtnie Rawlins, TTA President presented greetings at the 2019 Blue and Silver Ball. Teen Katrea Berry was crowned Miss Top Teen 2019, and Teen Edward Josey, Mister Top Teen (2020 Senior), with over two-hundred community members watching, along with the TLOD HIC-TLOD-TTA family. The Blue and Silver Ball of the Humble Intercontinental Chapter honored their 2020 Seniors on November 23, 2019 at the Power Center Houston. The theme for the event was “A Night In Paris.” The Top Teen Senior Class included: Teen Maddyson Barron, Teen Chiquita Thompson, Teen Kayla Atkins, Miss Top Teen 1st Runner-up, Teen Amayah Gabriel, Teen Katrea Berry, Teen Jaguars Walker and Teen Reginald Stephens (talent). “Our Teens represent the chapter well by participating in various service projects at the Local, Area and National levels.” HIC-TLOD President Lady Sylvia O’Neal along with 1st VP Lady Sheila Maddox and 2nd VP Lady Brenda Ards stated, “It is always great to attend the Blue and Silver Ball. It showcases some of the most dedicated teenagers in the Houston area.” The theme of the event was “A Night in Paris.” Proceeds from the Blue and Silver Ball will be used to pay for registration and travel expenses for Teens to attend leadership conferences. Advisor Lady Shwanda Warner, leads Teen Journee Morgan who serves as the National St. Jude Chair, and Teen Akira Brown serves as the National Senior Citizens Chair.

Senior Citizens, Lady Kathy Mosby, and Teen Kayla Atkins Chairs – Teens have been involved in several Senior Citizens Projects, such as the 2019 Grandparents Day. There were 24 Grandparents honored. Teens stated that they are committed to community involvement. The Humble chapter has provided unlimited services to the community. Thanksgiving Baskets were distributed at University Christian Church for families in need.
Status of Women-Lady Rhonda Skillern-Jones and Teen Aniya Jordan Chairs – HIC Teens and the Status of Women Committee have been busy with Dress for Success Houston in which the Ladies donated suits and shoes for women seeking employment. Lady Charlyn Kyles attended training at Dress for Success Houston.
Beautification – Lady Janice Hall and Teen Maddyson, Chairs of Chapter Beautification, Projects included: cleaning our block as a part of the Keep Houston Beautiful Adopt-a-Block Program, with the City of Houston; the block is located on the corner of Lyons and Waco.
Community Partnerships – Lady Joyce Jacquet and Teen Chase Mitchell Chairs, Humble Teens were among over one thousand youth that attended the annual UNCF Youth Gala 2019.
The Humble Chapter has joined the A-TEAAM which is the Ambassadors of the Evers Academy for African American Males, a National Partnership with the Medgar Evers Foundation. Twelve 6th grade boys have been chosen to be trained in Character and Leadership. Breakfast with Santa at the Golden Triangle YMCA and the Houston Food Bank were National Projects. Other National Projects include: March of Dimes, St. Jude, Literacy, NAACP, NCNW.
Area I Conference 2020 – Houston will be the venue of the Area I Conference. A large number of the Teens are planning to attend.
The Humble Chapter is truly where Top Teens are being prepared for future success.
