Former Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson has signed with another AFC South division rival. It was announced recently that Johnson and the Tennessee Titans have agreed to a two-year deal.
Johnson is looking to rebound from a horrendous season last year with the Indianapolis Colts, where he was tied for 49th in receiving yards in the AFC.
The Titans’ second year quarterback, Marcus Mariota, is happy to have Johnson on the team.
“He’s done some of the things that a lot of us young players here want to aspire for,” said Mariota to titansonline. “To kind of see that, to bring him in—he sounds like the type of guy that’s going to kind of hopefully help us and guide us in that direction.”
Johnson has looked really good at training camp thus far.
“He was real impressive,” said Titans wide receiver Kendall Wright.
Johnson could be a real mentor to some of the young receivers like Dorial Green-Beckham. Johnson still is the all-time leader in receptions and yards for the Houston Texans, where he spent 12 seasons.
