Hundreds of Houstonians poured onto city hall’s Hermann Square for a peace and unity rally on July 10. A Who’s Who list of political, community, law enforcement and just regular citizens attended the event. After the deaths of two black males by police across the nation, one in Houston and five police officers in Dallas, Houstonians wanted to send a message that violence is not the way. Black Lives Matter representatives from Houston said the rally was a start, but much more must be done.
