The Prairie View A&M volleyball team needed just three sets (25-9, 25-18, 25-14) to defeat the UAPB Lady Lions Sunday at home at Baby Dome.
The victory boosted the Lady Panthers’ record to 6-9 overall and 1-0 in SWAC play.
The Lady Panthers were led by a double-double from Kylee Owens, who registered 10 kills and 12 digs on the day. Bailee Hewitt also added seven kills to help the attack. On the defensive end, Nyah Walker chipped in with eight digs to go with three blocks from Janyah Henderson.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Panthers grabbed control on the first point and held the lead the rest of the way to win the first set 25-9. Prairie View A&M opened up its biggest lead, 16 points, to close out the set.
SET 2 | Prairie View A&M took set two 25-18 to swiftly jump to a 2-0 lead. The Lady Panthers scored first and never trailed in the set to earn the victory. Prairie View A&M opened up as much as a nine-point lead at 19-10 before finishing off the set.
SET 3 | Prairie View A&M took the third set to win in straight sets. The Lady Panthers led from the first point on in the set to secure a 25-14 victory. Prairie View A&M ended on a high note, claiming its biggest lead, 11 points, to close out the set. The Prairie View A&M offense also got a boost from four aces in the stanza.
