After the mid-season personnel shakeup, the Houston Texans team finally got their very first win of the season in week 5. Week 6 looked promising as well as the Texans were leading by a touchdown with under two minutes to play against the Tennessee Titans. Unfortunately, they were not able to hold onto the lead and ended up losing in overtime 42-36. J.J. Watt tried to shoulder the responsibility of the loss saying, “As leader of the defense, I put that squarely on my shoulders. So, this one is very difficult to take.”
On Monday, interim head coach Romeo Crennel put that to rest saying that Watt was not to shoulder the blame for the loss. “I’m the head coach and the buck stops at my desk,” Crennel reminded interviewers. “So, I’m the reason that we ended up losing that game. That’s the way everybody’s going to look at it eventually down the road. If that were not the case, you would be talking to Bill O’Brien right now.”
With that, here’s hoping the Texans are able to taste more victories this season.
