The Starting Lineup is hosting its second annual community toy drive and benefit concert on December 3rd at 7even Ultra Lounge in Houston, Texas. The Non Profit (charity) partners of this year’s event are the Julius Lenora Carter Foundation and Good Guys Gone Bad Ministries.
The event will bring together the local hip hop community and entertainment that will benefit local children in need of toys. A ten dollar donation or toy donation is required for entrance to the event. All toys collected will be provided to children in the Third Ward and Fifth Ward communities. Doors open from 6pm-11pm.
“We had an amazing turnout last year,” said Chazz Chambers of ThinkZILLA. “With the talent we have booked for this year’s event, we are preparing to exceed expectations.”
Performances include local talent, such as Stunna Bam, Rick the Ruler, Bravo & Midori of DSD1 MC Beezy, Nessacary ,CStone the Breadwinner and Dante Higgins of Bread Winners Music Group, Duke Gutta, The Sauce Family, Spilly, Poone, and Kizzay, in addition to other Houston-based artists and Special guests to be revealed at the event. Sounds will be provided by Houston’s very own Go Dj’s GT Mayne and Fire with MC Kane and Media Marcus Sullivan.
“The Starting Line Up’s first annual concert benefited Path to Freedom. Hundreds of toys were donated to children of incarcerated parents. Local support from organizations last year includes; Tackles4Cancer, Hip Hop Weekly, Fox 26 coverage and many more,” said ThinkZILLA CEO Velma Trayham. “This year, we will help even more children to have the best holiday ever in spite of any challenging circumstances, thanks to the local community and media support.”
