- What is discernment?
- the ability to judge well.
- the quality of being able to grasp and comprehend what is obscureor difficult to see or understand by others, especially in the norm, carnal or flesh level of thinking. (obscure = something unseen or uncertain or unclear)
- Where does the discernment ability in a Christian come from? How does God deliver the spirit of discernment to His believing people?
- Through spiritual wisdom;
- Through teaching of The Word of God;
- Through direct Divine revelation;
- What the Bible has to say about Christian discernment:
- Christian Discernment is a spiritual gift that comes from God;
- Christian Discernment helps the people of God to know the movement and actions that are of God;
- Christian Discernment allows the Holy Spirit to help the believer to use spiritual discernment to identify truth with Jesus;
- Christian Discernment assisted Solomon in his abilities to be trusted to lead God’s people with honesty, wisdom and integrity. I Kings 3:9-14
- Solomon’s ability to discern was tested, proven and respected; 16-28
- Christian discernment helps God’s people to see what others cannot see and to know what others will not know; Ezekiel 44:23,24; I John 4:1-6
- Christian discernment helps spiritual people to know good from evil; John 16:8,11-15; I Thessalonians 5:21; I Timothy 5:21,22; I Corinthians 2:9-16
