Souper Bowl of Caring Houston Luncheon was held on November 14, 2017, 11:30 a.m. at the Hilton Americas-Houston. This year’s Event Sponsors included: LEGENDS (The Robert and Janice McNair Foundation, Phillips Family Foundation, and Dr. Judith Craven); CHAMPIONS (Luby’s Fuddruckers Restaurants, Randalls Food Markets); MVPs (Bud Light/Silver Eagle Distributors, Frost, Kroger, Pappas Restaurants Inc., H-E-B, Mary Murray, Duane Morris LLP, and Mark & Kathy Wolffolk); ROOKIES (Winiford Dunn and ExxonMobil). The guest speaker was Catherine Kayser Vice President, Corporate Social Responsibility of Sysco.
The mission of Souper Bowl of Caring is “Using the energy of the Super Bowl to mobilize youth in a united national effort to care for people in their local communities who are hungry and those in need.” This organization has generated over $100 million for hunger and poverty relief charities and 100 percent of the donations go directly to the charity. The national headquarters was moved to Houston in September 2013 because the number one supporter is Mr. Robert McNair, who is located in Houston, Texas. On Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at Gallagher Gymnasium, St. Agnes Academy athletes continued their athletic academic careers in college. Quinn Biggio (Softball – University of Notre Dame), Brianna Gonzalez (Equestrian – Texas Christian University), Kennedy Johnson (Softball – Texas A&M Corpus Christi), and Anna Unger (Field Hockey – Colgate University). Congratulations to all of the students at St. Agnes Academy. We wish them well in their future endeavors.

Bread of Life Inc.’s Celebrity Thanksgiving Feast attendees
Many were in attendance for a celebrity-filled feast on Saturday, November 18, 2017, at St. John’s United Methodist Church for an epicurean Thanksgiving feast. This event was designed to encourage those affected by Hurricane Harvey and to thank the hundreds of volunteers who stepped in to support recovery efforts.
