World Youth Foundation, Inc.: “Planting Seeds for the Future of Our Youth”

On Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Wortham Theater, the World Youth Foundation, Inc. held their Seeds of Gratitude Brunch Cultivating the Next Disruptive Innovators. For 25 years, The World Youth Foundation, Inc. has been a non-profit organization serving over 70,000 youth with year-round, dynamic, and cost-free 21st Century leadership and workforce development programs that have vested in preparing our generation of leaders that is founded in building resilience, character, integrity and wisdom, while fostering and enabling opportunities to become engaged, healthy and productive members of their communities. Thanks to Marina Coryat of Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas for letting me sit at her table. The event was a wonderful celebration of youth in the City of Houston.
The Master of Ceremony was Khambrel Marshall (Meteorologist, ‘Newsmakers’ Host), Mistress of Ceremony was Yolanda Green, Community Pioneer, Invocation – Megabehaymanot kesis Solomon Mulugeta (Priest in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church), Welcome by the Honorable Larry V. Green, Council member District K, Greetings & Occasion by the Honorable City of Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Benediction by Dr. Evelyn Ogletree (Executive Pastor of First Metropolitan Church, Houston, Texas), and the Keynote Speaker for 2016 was Michael Terry Williams, Sr.

D.N.C. Campaign Office Opening In Texas: Hillary Clinton for President
On Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the C.W.A. Hall on 1730 Jefferson Street in Downtown Houston, a kick-off celebration was held for the Democratic National Campaign Office Opening for Presidential Candidate Hillary Clinton. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited by Ronald Reynolds, III (son of Texas State Rep. Ronald Reynolds). There were Federal, State, and Local Elected Officials present including: Constable Alan Rosen, Harris County Board of Education Trustee Erica Lee-Carter, Texas State Representative Senfronia Thompson, Texas State Rep. Ron Reynolds, Congressman Al Green, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and Congressman Gene Green. Thanks to the many volunteers and supporters to make this event a huge success.
Drake & Future Concert Presented by Live Nation
On September 3-4, 2016, Live Nation recently presented a jaw dropping concert featuring music sensations Drake and Future who dominated the stage at the Toyota Center. Lots of screaming and adoring fans were there to partake in the action at the filled to capacity arena. This was a spectacular concert by super stars Drake and Future performing some of their greatest hits.
